Essential questions to ask a prospective employees of marketing communications firms.
Too many marketing communications professionals are hired on the basis of just a few interviews, no reference checks, and no independent assessment of personality traits.
To improve the quality of the interview process, consider the following questions:
- How was (last employer) as a place to work?
- What did you like most about your previous job?
- What did you like least about your previous job?
- What are some of the professional accomplishments you’re most proud of?
- What would you say are your natural strengths?
- What do other people often compliment you for?
- What do other people often criticize you for?
- What do you consider to be the areas where you need to develop additional professional knowledge and skills?
- What are the things that usually upset you at work?
- How would you describe your work habits and working style?
- How would you describe your personality to someone who doesn’t know you?
- How do you judge your own success?
- What kind of job description would you like to have here?
